It was a only a matter of time before the coolest historical figure portrayed on film,  William Wallace, was turned into a TV show. Now STV Productions, Digital Rights Group, Nine/8 Entertainment and Creative Media are all teaming to develop such a show, titled Wallace. According to The Live Feed, it is a historical dramatic television series based on the life of Scottish legend and is akin to recent TV series such as Spartacus and Game of Thrones. Which hopefully means lots of sex and fighting.

The show focuses on Wallace’s years spent attempting to unify Scotland, his loves and losses as well as his legendary battles with King Edward the Longshank, and rival Robert the Bruce.

Mick Davis (The Eleventh Hour),will write and executive produce the show, based on an idea by an advisor from the Mel Gibson Braveheart, Seorad Wallace, and Kent Dalian.

There’s no mention on what network this will go to, but I would that Showtime has the most to gain from it, but they have a perios piece, but it’s The Borgias, and it’s not quit filled with action and sex, so this would be good competition, though I don’t anything could rival Game of thrones in Quality.  That being said, I’m looking forward to this very much, and it sounds like an awesome project.
