As the transfer window begins to draw nearer and nearer, each day brings a fresh new transfer rumor and boy, this week has brought about some sensational ones. Here are this week’s biggest transfer rumors:

Sylvain Distin

According to the Guardian, Arsenal are in the hunt for Sylvian Distin this summer, after their 2-0 defeat at the hands of rivals, Manchester United. It is understood by sources that Wenger is looking for a no-nonsense defender and believes that Distin is the right man to take that role in the summer window.

The Guardian also reports that Paris-Saint Germain want Manchester City flop, Shaun-Wright Phillips in the summer. PSG are reported to have drafted a £5m bid for him, seeing as he only has a year remaining on his contract at City.

Reports around Europe are revealing that Napoli have given up on their chase for Petr Cech and will settle for West Ham reserve keeper, Marek Stech for £2m.

Meanwhile, Inter are preparing a shock bid for Tottenham’s Luka Modric as they attempt to recover from the shocking season they have endured thus far.

Arsenal have also been linked with a move for Keisuke Honda and it is reported that CSKA Moscow have raised their asking price for the Japanese starlet. Liverpool are also reportedly interested in playmaker so look out for a battle for Honda this summer.

Jordan Henderson and Sunderland have both turned down offers from Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Juventus, with Henderson preferring the idea of staying at the Stadium of Light.

Arsenal and Manchester United are reportedly in the hunt for Everton midfielder, Jack Rodwellas Everton drive up the price for the Englishman with each fresh rumor out of the press. It was initially reported last night that Manchester United had agreed a deal for Rodwell in principal but this is unlikely to be true, as Everton will wait to the final minutes of the window to get the price they want.

After a busy January transfer window, Ashley Young will be in for a busy time this summer, withManchester United joining Liverpool in the hunt to sign the Villa playmaker. But with Aston Villa being in the middle of a rebuilding process, it’s unlikely they’ll want to let Young go for a small fee.

Tottenham and Newcastle are reportedly sniffing around former Brazil star, Adriano in a bid to strengthen their attacking options.

And also, Gael Clichy could be on his way to Liverpool or Juventus if he doesn’t renew his contract in North London.
