MLB: Texas Rangers at Kansas City Royals

In Friday’s Game 3 of the 2014 World Series, Kansas City Royals pitcher Jeremy Guthrie achieved something which had never been accomplished in the history of the Fall Classic.

Guthrie is the first starting pitcher in MLB history to win a World Series game where he failed to register at least one strikeout in the same game where he didn’t yield a walk.

Pitching 5 complete innings and facing 2 batters in the 6th, Guthrie allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, but all of the batters he faced made contact with the ball. The Royals went on to win the beat the San Francisco Giants by a final score of 3 to 2.
