With the world of Anime getting bigger and bigger. I figured I let you in on the Anime series and movies that you may want to check out and enjoy. now I could of easily started out with the standards like Dragon Ball, Street Fighter, Ninja Scrolls and etc. But I wanted to do something different and point out some of the not so main stream aeries that only die hard Anime fans will talk about. Let’s start with the one that I spent a whole weekend watching…

Soul Eater:
“Set in the Shinigami technical school for weapon meisters, the series revolves around 3 groups of each a weapon meister and a human weapon. Trying to make the latter a “Death Scythe” and thus fit for use by the Shinigami, they must collect the souls of 99 evil humans and 1 witch.

Soul Eater is an anime that centers around meisters and their weapons and their mission to collect 99 evil souls and 1 witch soul. Upon doing that the meister’s weapons will become a Deathscythe, which is the highest title for a weapon. Maka, Soul Eater, Black Star, Tsubaki, Death the Kid, and Patty and Liz Thompson are the characters Soul Eater revolves around. Besides taking the time to gather souls these students of Shibusen defend Death City from some of the most powerful of creatures while still attending school and trying to become stronger.” (Quoted from http://www.animenewsnetwork.com)

I just finished watching this whole series. It is set up like your normal anime story. Main character backed by the rag tag group of friends that are very different from each other. what I liked about it, is the fact that the weapons are actually people. It’s like what they did with the storyline in Bleach when the Weapons gained physical forms. Add that to the fact that they are at a school that trains them to work together you have a good show. The action is amazing. Alot of different styles and weapons being used makes for the great fight scenes. Most def a must watch for those looking for a short series (51 EPs) that has some off the wall action and a solid storyline.

One Piece

One Piece:

“Before he was executed, the legendary Pirate King Gold Roger revealed that he had hidden the treasure One Piece somewhere in the Grand Line. Now, many pirates are off looking for this legendary treasure to claim the title Pirate King. One pirate, Monkey D. Luffy, is a boy who had eaten the Devil’s Fruit and gained rubber powers. Now he and his crew are off to find One Piece, while battling enemies and making new friends along the way.” (Quoted from http://www.animenewsnetwork.com)

I have to admit this is my guilty pleasure. Maybe it is the silly nature of the anime itself. The main guy, Luffy is just so care free that it is infectious as you watch it. 506 eps and they series continues to impress me with the way it weaves story lines in and out of each other explaining back stories and reason for certain things happening. I’ve gotten quite far in this series and due to the Manga, know that the best stuff is yet come. you may have seen the show on cartoon network and I suggest that you jump online and catch up on what you have been missing.

Tatsumi Oga is a first year student in Ishiyama High School, a school for delinquents, where he is called the “strongest juvenile delinquent”. One day while sleeping next to a river, Tatsumi sees a man floating down it. Tatsumi pulls him to shore and the man splits in half, revealing a baby boy. This boy, Beelzebub, is the son of the demon king, and Tatsumi, along with Beelzebub’s demon maid Hilda, has been chosen as the one to raise him. (Quoted from http://www.animenewsnetwork.com)

Just finished watching 29 episodes of this series to bring myself up to date. It is a very interesting take of the Lone Wolf and Club story. Although they have yet to explain why the baby always has to be naked this series is funny as well as action packed. The array of supporting cast are very strange yet entertaining. Even in filler episodes you find yourself laughing at the trough the crew in the story get into. Everything from the threat of Beelzebub drowning the world with his Demon Piss to Oga’s quest to find someone stronger then him. Trust me, once you watch this you too will be hooked and waiting for the next installment.

I go to two places to get my Anime fix, http://www.animehere.com/ & http://www.animeboy.org/ . These sites are pretty good about updates and have a large library of stuff to look at. So until next time…watch and enjoy and remember who raised the ratings in this bitch…
