Alright, laugh all you want, but ever since it hit theaters, I wanted to see “The Game Plan”.  Obviously I didn’t want to see it enough to pay the money to see it on the big screen, but the first chance I had to see it for free via TiVo, I jumped at it.

Sure, it’s a Disney film, but it’s also a football movie with a former wrestler as the star.

Yes, that’s right, I’m a fan of professional wrestling.  Dwayne Johnson, formerly known as The Rock, happens to be one of the most charismatic individuals I’ve ever met (alright, I’ve never met him…) and so I like to support films he’s in, of which I believe I’ve seen them all, except for Doom (which I have no interest in) and The Tooth Fairy (which I’ll watch eventually due to its inclusion of hockey, but I’ll wait for it to be on television just like with The Game Plan).

Will most of the readers of enjoy this movie?  Probably not, but I’d say at least 35%-45% might.  It does have its heart-warming / lame moments, but it’s a decent story.

I wouldn’t force my 12 year old nephew to watch the film, but if I were watching it, he wouldn’t be bored to tears.  It’s also not the type of movie which is TOO geared towards kids that it’s worthless to adults.

If you want a feel-good story involving football and you might watch it with a kid?  Give it a go.

Just try not to turn off the film when you see The Rock in a leotard.
