All the news and recap shows on television and plenty of websites tell you who the top offensive players are for a week and show the plays they were involved in. Heck, GuysNation did that already. But what about the defensive players? In some cases, they make more of an impact than what the players on Offense do. So here’s a look at the top Defense player performances from Week 5.

Robert Quinn [StL – DE]

Six tackles, three sacks (the most by any player in Week 5), forced a fumble and deflected a pass. The only thing Robert Quinn didn’t do was grab an interception against Arizona.

Lance Briggs [Chi – LB]

An interception returned for a touchdown, a sack and a pass deflected to go with four tackles. The Jaguars are going to have nightmares about Lance Briggs.

Von Miller [Den – LB]

Eight tackles, five for loss, forced a fumble, deflected a pass and had two sacks. Von Miller did his part to try to help Peyton Manning continue his rivalry with New England.

J.J. Watt [Hou – D-Line]

Six tackles, a sack and three passes deflected, J.J. Watt had the Jets stifled on Monday Night Football.

Ryan Kerrigan [Was – LB]

Five tackles and an interception returned for a touchdown, Ryan Kerrigan was effective despite being double-teamed most of the afternoon against the Falcons. When else have you seen 7 linemen setup for the majority of a game?

Roman Harper [NO – S]

Six tackles, an interception and three passes deflected. Roman Harper had the Chargers looking to target away from him.

Charles Tillman [Chi – CB]

An interception returned for a touchdown to go with four tackles, Charles Tillman made the Jaguars hesitant to throw his way.

Luke Kuechly [Car – LB]

Eleven tackles, an interception and a pass deflection, Luke Kuechly didn’t play like a rookie against the Seahawks!

Usama Young [Cle – S]

Ten tackles and an interception that he returned 44 yards. Usama Young is making a name for himself in the defensive secondary in Cleveland.

London Fletcher [Was – LB]

Though it was the only stat category that London Fletcher notched against the Falcons, hitting 20 tackles is quite a feat.
