I wouldn’t laugh if this happened to my family, but because it’s not my family, I feel free to laugh at how irony works.

A player from the Minnesota Twins got tickets for his family to attend his game against the New York Yankees.  They were GREAT seats, right next to the dugout.

In the first inning when Denard Span came to bat, he fouled off a fastball from Phil Hughes – and out of all the places it could’ve gone, it struck his mom.  In the chest.

Apparently the scream was heard in the bullpen (by Joba Chamberlain).

According to his Twitter account, we got the status of Denard Span’s mom “My mom is feeling OK right now!”
