Lawless is full of bad-ass, and I’m trying to make sure that you’re anticipating it.
Tom Hardy is a bad-ass. If you saw hist performance as Bane from Dark Knight Rises, you know what he’s capable of doing. That doesn’t include what he did in BRONSON or WARRIOR.
Throw in Guy Pearce and Gary Oldman and it’s significantly stronger. You might not consider Shia LaBeouf bad-ass, but he didn’t seem out of place in the action scenes of the Transformers movies, nor the fourth Indiana Jones flick. Or EAGLE EYE.
And those are just the performers.

LAWLESS hits theaters Wednesday, August 29th. It is directed by John Hillcoat, who again works with his frequent collaborator, the infamous Nick Cave who adapted the novel by Matt Bondurant into the screenplay. Bondurant’s novel, The Wettest County In The World, is a historical novel which tells the tale of three moonshine-bootlegging brothers during the Depression.
