I’LL HAVE ANOTHER is one “other” away from winning the Triple Crown.

Two weeks ago J. Paul Reddam’s horse was 12 to 1 odds to win the Kentucky Derby, and it did just that.

Today I’LL HAVE ANOTHER entered the Preakness Stakes at 3 to 1 odds, just behind favorite BODEMEISTER (at 2 to 1), and that’s very nearly how they finished.

At the end of the race, I’LL HAVE ANOTHER edged out BODEMEISTER by a matter of inches, and in doing so, collects the second piece of the coveted Triple Crown.

If Reddam’s horse can win the Belmont Stakes on June 9th, it will be the first horse to win the Triple Crown since AFFIRMED won the three races back in 1978.

This is currently the longest Triple Crown drought since it was first accomplished in 1919. The second longest span without a Triple Crown winner was between CITATION in 1948 and 1973’s SECRETARIAT.
