In case you missed it, I’ve started a series of articles giving my take on the current Moviefone.com Heroes and Villains tournament.  Essentially half the bracket is comprised of Hero vs Hero battles, leading to the finals where the ultimate hero will meet the ultimate villain (as voted by anyone who goes to the site), who went through a similar bracket of fellow baddies.  I’ve already given my analysis for who would advance from the heroes side of the brackets, and now it’s time to get down to the next set of 8.  Feel encouraged to respond with your take on things.

Bleeders

Match 1 – Alien (Aliens) vs Dracula (Bram Stoker’s Dracula)

The aliens are certainly destructive, but this is the Prince Of Darkness we’re talking about.  The Aliens can climb on walls and ceilings, so can that version of Dracula.  There are legions of those creepy creatures willing to work together, and Dracula can get his own minions.  Given the survival instincts Dracula clearly has, not to mention his ability to morph into an animal, I’m going with Dracula in this one.

Match 2 – Dracula (Nosferatu) vs Freddy Krueger (Nightmare on Elm Street)

There’s a big difference between this Dracula and the one from the Bram Stoker’s version of the movie with Gary Oldman.  This one’s creepy, but nowhere near as creepy as Freddy Krueger.  The fact that Freddy can kill you in your dreams mixed with the fact that the Nosferatu version of Dracula looks like he sleeps all the time, the Elm Street native advances.

Match 3 – Godzilla (Godzilla) vs Jason Vorhees (Friday The 13th)

Come on, it’s Godzilla.  What’s Jason Vorhees going to do to him?

Match 4 – Michael Myers (Halloween) vs The Predator (Predator)

Michael Myers is bad ass, one of my favorite horror / thriller characters, but The Predator is DOMINANT.  His weapons, his cloaking, and his hunting ability?  Michael Myers won’t last long.

Round 2 Matches

Match 5 – Dracula (Bram Stoker’s Dracula) vs Freddy Krueger (Nightmare on Elm Street)

Krueger beat one version of Dracula, but this version is far more powerful and will find a way to not only avoid falling asleep, but he’ll turn Freddy’s life into a nightmare.  Dracula moves to the finals for this part of the bracket.

Match 6 – Godzilla vs Predator

Against anyone else in this bracket, Godzilla would find himself in the finals, but this sets up nicely for Predator to destroy the toughest competition in this bracket.  I’d love to see this fight, but it’s easy for me to predict who would win.

Bracket Finals – Dracula vs Predator

As much as I respect this version of Dracula, he wouldn’t know what to do against the bad ass alien lifeform, whose weapon technology is more than enough to defeat The Count.
