So this is the point where I would start to talk about the next conference that I’ll be previewing. However since there are like 3 times as many conferences in D1 basketball then there are in football, it would take me until tourney time to go through them all. That would give me a steady topic to write about on the other hand, but I’m sure you’d all get tired of it quickly. So I’ll be previewing the winners of each of the conferences and not every single team.

America East: Solid defense and rebounding will have Vermont on top.

Atlantic 10: With the most talent, Xavier is the team to beat in the A10.

Atlantic Sun: Several talented scorers could make Belmont a bracket buster.

Big Sky: The return of star player Damian Lillard from injury has Weber State primed and ready.

Big South: Big returnees have UNC-Asheville focused on back-to-back conference titles.

Big West: Too much returning talent for Long Beach State not to win the conference.

Colonial: New coach Paul Hewitt will have George Mason playing at top speed to win the Colonial.

C-USA: The conference title is basically there for Memphis to win.

Horizon: Even though they lost talent, Butler is still the team to beat in the Horizon.

MAAC: After a bad ending to last season, Iona has the conference title in their sights.

MAC: Depth is the main reason Kent State will be atop the MAC this season.

MEAC: Several starters return with the experience to lead Morgan State to the title.

Missouri Valley: All-American candidate Doug McDermott will lead Creighton.

MWC: A number of returning starters has New Mexico thinking conference title.

Northeast: Depth throughout the roster gives Long Island the edge.

Ohio Valley: Experience will be they key for Tennessee Tech in a wide open OVC.

Patriot: With the talent they have, Bucknell is the clear favorite.

Southern: Davidson is a popular pick, but improved defense puts Chattanooga on top.

Southland: New coach Pat Knight will give Lamar the boost it needs to rise out of a crowded pack.

Summit: With 5 players on Preseason 1st or 2nd team conference lists, Oral Roberts is the favorite.

Sun Belt: Last year’s champ Arkansas-Little Rock has the talent to repeat.

SWAC: After falling short in the conference tourney last year, Jackson State looks to claim the title.

WAC: With all 5 starters back, Nevada looks to be the favorite.

WCC: The dominance of Gonzaga will continue this season.
