Four-time Pro Bowl cornerback Asante Samuel is now a member of the Atlanta Falcons after being dealt to the NFC South squad from the Philadelphia Eagles.

Samuel was drafted in the fourth round of the 2003 draft by the New England Patriots after attending Central Florida. He was part of two Super Bowl winning teams during his stay with the Patriots. In his final season with the team, Asante was chosen to the Pro Bowl, an honor he earned in the three seasons which followed, as well. During the 2009 and 2010 campaigns, he had the most interceptions in the NFL each of those seasons.

With his contract nearing expiration, Asante Samuel was dealt to the Atlanta Falcons for a 7th round draft pick. As part of the negotiations, the Falcons have reportedly signed Samuel to an extension with a price tag exceeding $18 M over the three additional years.

Asante Samuel has 45 career interceptions, 5 touchdowns and 368 tackles in 9 seasons.
