There’s so much going on in movie news right now that instead of covering it in a dozen separate articles, I wanted to give some summaries all in one spot. While the second half of this article contains several stories and (at least partially substantiated) rumors, we’ll first start with the money…

Non-Financial News

An under-rated character by the name of Parker is likely going to be more of a household name in the next ten years, despite already having a great (and under-rated) portrayal of the character in a film called Payback from over a decade ago. The reason the character is about to get a significant increase in popularity is because Jason Statham is going to portray the character in an upcoming film, which now has U.S. distribution according to Deadline.

Sarah Shahi

The uber-hot Sarah Shahi (currently starring in FAIRLY LEGAL on USA Network) is going to be portraying Sly Stallone’s daughter in the upcoming BULLET TO THE HEAD, according to Variety (by way of Collider). The film about a New Orleans hitman is likely to be far more interesting than the other project Shahi is a part of, I DON’T KNOW HOW SHE DOES IT, which co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker.

It’s not movie news, but it involves one of my favorite Hollywood writers who has been involved in big budget / big return movies of the past few years. According to Deadline, David Goyer, who is a major force in the Christopher Nolan camp, is going to be involved in an upcoming project for Showtime to develop the comic book 100 Bullets into a television series.

Anyone who is looking forward to the sequel to J.J. Abrahms’ 2009 STAR TREK film will be interested to know that William Shatner has confirmed that he will not be in the next film. Leonard Nemoy got mixed reviews for showing up in the 2009 film. (Source: Spinoff)

Just when it seemed like the Jurassic Park series was done, Steven Speilberg is talking with Mark Protosevich, writer for THOR, about doing the fourth installment. (Source: Heat Vision / Hollywood Reporter)
