Ian McCall vs Joseph Benavidez

This will be a fast fight with both fighters fighting for top position on the ground. I think Benavidez has the advantage in this fight if it stays on their feet, but he is no slouch on the ground. McCall will do his best to keep this fight on the ground and try to win by ground and pound. This is a fight that can go either way. I’m going to go with the underdog in this fight.

Pick – Ian McCall via Decision

Jon Fitch vs Demian Maia

Jon Fitch has really good takedowns and should be able to takedown Maia with ease. The only thing Fitch will have to worry about is Maia’s submissions. They are great and he is able to put his opponents in one from any position. I see Fitch grinding out a win on the ground.

Pick – Jon Fitch via Decision

Alistair Overeem vs Antonio Silva

Alistair Overeem is coming off his 9 month suspension for having elevated testosterone. If he wins this he is next in line for the Heavyweight Championship. I don’t see Silva being able to withstand the power of Overeem. But, as we have seen every fighter has a punchers chance. Overeem will look to use his kickboxing background to help him win this. I don’t see this fight lasting that long.

Pick – Alistair Overeem via TKO/KO in the 1st round

Rashad Evans vs Antonio Rogerio Nogueira

Rashad hasn’t fought since last April. I’m not sure if he will have ring rust or not, but it has affected quite a few fighters recently. Lil’ Nog hasn’t fought since December of 2011. My biggest question will be the cardio of both fighters. Also will Rashad go back to his wrestling or will he stand and trade punches with Lil’ Nog. Lil’ Nog is really good at defending takedowns so it won’t be a walk in the park to get Lil’ Nog on the ground. Rashad should use his kicks to help him out in this fight.

Pick – Rashad Evans via TKO/KO in the 2nd round

Jose Aldo (C) vs Frankie Edgar

This is a fight that people have been wanting for a long time. Edgar makes his debut at 145 and his more natural weight class. Jose Aldo is riding a 14 fight win streak. Edgar will need to control the pace of this fight and avoid as many leg kicks from Aldo as possible. Aldo has the most punishing leg kicks in the UFC. It will be interesting to see if Edgar is able to wrestle Aldo to the mat and how Aldo responds. This fight is going to be very entertaining and worth the PPV money.

Pick – Jose Aldo via TKO/KO in the 4th round
