UFC 133 is coming up this weekend It is a major event with a now a title elimination with the headliner of Tito Ortiz vs. Rashad Evans. Also another interesting fight with Victor Belfort and Yoshihiro Akiyama. Fights with Rory MacDonald vs. Mike Pyle, Jorge Rivera vs. Costantinos Philippou, Dennis Hallman vs. Brian Ebersole also is on the main card.

Predictions

Rashad Evans vs. Tito Ortiz

Rashad wins by Unanimous Decision 29-28 over Tito Ortiz. Rashad looks to be in the best fitness and physique he has ever been since his controversial departure from Greg Jackson’s camp. Rashad is looking to make a statement in this fight that his success is based off his own talents rather than the coaching of Greg Jackson. Tito Ortiz is coming off of a big fight a month ago with a shocking fight with his fight with Ryan Bader. The one negative is that Rashad Evans has been inactive for nearly 14 months due to injuries of his on the potential opponents. I see this fight going 2 rounds to 1 in favor of Rashad.

Vitor Belfort vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama

Yoshihiro Akiyama via K.O. in the second round. Both fighters are exciting fighters, and as a martial artist and competitor, this has the makings to be fight of the night honors. These are two of the most proficient grapplers in the weight class. Akiyama is coming off two consecutive losses and is 1-3 in the UFC. Belfort was knocked out by Anderson Silva at UFC 126. Belfort is a former champ and looking at a win to get him another chance for a title.  So look at this match for a knockout between one of the two fighters. Akiyama has devastating knockout power but Belfort is one of the best boxers in the game.

Brian Ebersole vs. Dennis Hallman

I am picking Ebersole over Hallman via Decision 29-28. Both are guys with HUGE fight records. Brian Ebersole is 47-14-1 and 43-13-1. This fight is unfortunately a card filler. Neither of these men are prospects for contention over GSP title contention. I am choosing solely due to the age difference of  Ebersole of nearly five years. Ebersole is also undefeated in the UFC.

Jorge Rivera vs. Constantinos Philippou

Contantinos Philippou via strikes over Jorge Rivera in first round. Another card filler, Jorge Rivera is a one-dimensional fighter with just striking. Jorge Rivera has mentioned retiring out of this fight so I seriously see a lack of dedication and if it is a nothing showing like the Bisping fight that Philippou should seize the opportunity and get the win.

Rory MacDonald vs. Mike Pyle

Rory MacDonald via strikes second round. Rory MacDonald versus Mike Pyle is a rising prospect versus a quality veteran and former WEC champion. While I know that this will be an interesting fight I know that this is a tune up fight for Rory MacDonald for bigger fights in the UFC. Expect this fight to stay as a majority striking clinic because both fighters are wanting to state a example for Dana White. Mike Pyle has been known to have sloppy defense and expect Rory MacDonald to counter with a effective strike to end the fight.

Tune in on Saturday night to see if my predictions are accurate.
