Another event, more predictions.

Main card

* Light Heavyweight bout:
United States – Chuck Liddell vs. United States – Rich Franklin
I keep hearing people say that Rich Franklin is going to beat Liddell, but Rich Franklin is out of his weight class and is fighting a world class competitor.  I like everything I’m hearing about Chuck Liddell’s training and preparedness for this fight, and I think Liddell is looking to get his name back on top, so I see him as taking this fight.
Prediction:  Chuck Liddell

* Heavyweight bout:
Croatia – Mirko Filipović vs. United States – Pat Barry
Having seen the UFC hype show on SPIKE TV, I’m definitely looking at Pat Barry to show that Cro Cop is not only past his prime, but over-rated.
Prediction:  Pat Barry

* Welterweight bout:
Brazil – Paulo Thiago vs. Denmark – Martin Kampmann
This one could be a good one.  Kampmann is a veteran who I have enjoyed watching, and Paulo Thiago keeps getting superlatives for his fight.  This could be a sleeper candidate for Fight Of The Night.
Prediction:  Paulo Thiago

* Heavyweight bout:
United States – Ben Rothwell vs. Netherlands – Gilbert Yvel
I don’t like either of these guys, but I’ve seen more from Ben Rothwell, and I didn’t like what I saw.  Because of that, I’ll go with Gilbert Yvel.
Prediction:  Gilbert Yvel

* Welterweight bout:
United States – Carlos Condit vs. Canada – Rory MacDonald
Don’t have too much knowledge about either of these guys, but Rory MacDonald’s undefeated record includes a lot of guys who I’ve never heard of, and Carlos Condit has plenty of credibility from WEC.
Prediction:  Carlos Condit

Preliminary card (Spike TV)

* Lightweight bout:
United States – Tyson Griffin vs. United States – Evan Dunham
Tyson Griffin has WAY too many decisions, and Evan Dunham is an exciting fighter who ENDS fights.
Prediction:  Evan Dunham

* Lightweight bout:
United States – Mac Danzig vs. United States – Matt Wiman
Danzig has a decision victory in his last fight, following three straight losses.  Yuck.  Wiman is only slightly better, but I like the two opponents Wiman lost two in the past two years.
Prediction:  Matt Wiman
This probably fares well for Danzig, since he wins fights I pick against him.

Preliminary card

* Middleweight bout:
Canada – David Loiseau vs. Brazil – Mario Miranda
BJJ guy with wrestling skills rebounds off of his first loss (in his UFC debut – understandable) to get back on track.
Prediction:  Mario Miranda

* Welterweight bout:
England – James Wilks vs. Germany – Peter Sobotta
I like Wilks’ skills, and Sobotta doesn’t have tons of experience (and a decision loss in his UFC debut seems a bit “off”).  This prediction is likely to be wrong.
Prediction:  James Wilks

* Welterweight bout:
Brazil – Ricardo Funch vs. Canada – Claude Patrick
Prediction:  Ricardo Funch

* Welterweight bout:
United States – Mike Pyle vs. United States – Jesse Lennox
Prediction:  Jesse Lennox
