Today Vince Vaughn turns 42, and though he got off to a rough start in Hollywood in after school specials and bit parts, he has emerged as one of the top comedic actors of our generation.
It’s hard to narrow down the list of movies he was in that we really enjoyed to our top 5, but that’s exactly what we’ve done, and after you read our list, you should vote on which ones are your favorite.
Keep in mind that the amount of time he’s on screen during a movie impacts where the movie ends up on our list. Not that Lost World: Jurassic Park 2 would be included, but Rudy might.
The list gets a lot better from here, but this is definitely a place we want to start because it featured Vince as its leading man. Some will probably argue Dodgeball should be on here instead, but my anti-Stiller bias got in the way (that’s right, Zoolander isn’t on the list either).
It wasn’t a sequel to Swingers, but in a lot of ways it felt like it. Definitely didn’t have the same swagger, but it was more enjoyable than you remember.
For many of you, the first time you realized how awesome Vince Vaughn is, he was saying “earmuffs”. He wasn’t the lead character in Old School, but he was a huge part of why it was a great flick. When he’s smoking while doing the rings near the end, I lose it every time.
If you question why this is on the list, you haven’t seen it. This was one of the funniest movies in the 2000′s, and Vince Vaughn was a much bigger reason for its success than anyone else in the flick (though it wouldn’t have been the same without Isla Fisher).
Top scenes from Wedding Crashers:
- bathroom scene where Isla Fisher lets him know she’d track him down if he went away
- creepy scene in the brother’s bedroom
- football scene with Bradley Cooper
For our money, it’s hard to get more “money” than Trent. If you haven’t seen it, you’re missing out on one of my all-time favorite cult films.
Top scenes from Swingers:
- Who’s the big winner?
- All Growns Up
- video game playing scene
- hyping up Mikey with the Bear & Bunny speech
