Tobi Oyedeji, an 18 year old high school senior from Houston,TX and a star high school basketball player, passed away Sunday morning following a car accident after he had attended his school’s prom the night before.

Standing 6’9″, Toby was listed as “Top 100” recruit by the Rivals recruiting service and was slated to begin playing for Texas A&M this next season while looking to major in engineering.  As comments to the media from his friends and family show, he was someone of high character and intelligence.  Even though he was being viewed as making a quick impact for the Aggie basketball team, he had a bright future for more reasons than just because he was really, really good at a sport.

No official word had been given at the time I posted this, but early reports state Tobi had fallen asleep at the wheel prior to his vehicle crossing the median and striking a Jeep and a Honda Civic.

My (and hopefully yours too) thoughts and prayers are with Tobi’s friends and family, as well as the Texas A&M program.
