That tearful picture is from his Instagram, and the quote he gave along with the emotional selfie proclaims that this film is shaping up to his liking:
“Visited JJ and his EP VII set. I signed the NDA so all I can share are this old Bantha-Tracks subscriber’s tears and snotty nose of joy. The Force is WITH this movie. Holy Sith…”
Whatever you think of Kevin Smith, the fact that he’s THIS excited about what he has seen on set should give you a reason to be optimistic. If not, just remember the talented cast they’ve assembled.
