The Washington Redskins should definitely pursue free agent Flozell Adams.

He was a Pro Bowl Offensive Tackle 5 of the past 7 years, missing out last year, and also in 2005 – the season in which he tore his ACL.

Did I mention he has played his entire career with the Dallas Cowboys?  Yeah, there’s that.  But you’d have to think that he’d want to play well against the Cowboys to show them that they shouldn’t have cut him.

I’m sure Mike Shanahan would love to have a hugely experienced veteran like Flozell Adams on his team.  He’d potentially be a good locker room leader to go along with Brian Orakpo, and he’d be a great mentor to whatever offensive linemen the Redskins draft.

If Washington lets him slip through their fingers and sign elsewhere, I’ll be disappointed.  Give the guy a decent contract, heavier this year than next, and let him be a great mentor to the young offensive lineman and a decent starter if called upon to play that role.

Don’t let the fact that this guy is a career Cowboy phase you.  He’s a great player, and the Redskins could really use him.
