Plenty of movie news to go around, and since a lot of it concerns superheroes, so I’ll just put it all into one article:
Dark Knight Rises
Details regarding the third installment of Christopher Nolan’s Batman series continue to rise (pardon the pun), and this time we get a look at Catwoman’s costume, which is a bit more of a throwback to the 1960′s look from the Adam West series. There’s speculation that the ears are functional, potentially folding down into her glasses.
Man Of Steel
The upcoming Superman film has a star-studded cast, and now one of the well known actresses has left the project and a replacement has been picked. Julia Ormond had been announced to fill the role of Lara Lor-Van, the birth mother of the iconic superhero, but now for reasons still unknown, Ormond is out and Ayelet Zurer is taking her place. (Deadline) Zurer, an Israeli actress, co-starred in MUNICH and more recently ANGELS & DEMONS.
The Wolverine
Most of you probably know that a sequel to X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE is in the works. You probably even heard that they had a tough time getting a director and nailing down some other details. Recently it was announced that filming would have to wait until after Hugh Jackman is done filming LES MISERABES, but fans should be encouraged by the praise being garnered amongst those involved in the project. The film will apparently be based on a storyline from the early 1980′s written by Frank Miller and Chris Claremont. The screenplay for the film is being developed by Christopher McQuarrie, and according to SpinOff, Claremont is describing McQuarrie and his efforts as “brilliant”.
Justice League: Doom
The DC Universe has produced several high quality animated features, and the cast of voice-over talents for the upcoming feature has grown to include two more talents. Nathan Fillion, a cult favorite to be involved in upcoming live-action superhero projects, will reprise his role as Green Lantern which he previously voiced in EMERALD KNIGHTS. Superman will be voiced by Tim Daly, who also helped portray the character in The Animated Series. (TV Guide) Other talents adding their voice to the project are Kevin Conroy (Batman, having voiced the character in The Animated Series), Michael Rosenbaum (The Flash, though he portrayed Lex Luthor in SMALLVILLE).
