In the Week 2 game against the Atlanta Falcons, Mike Vick sustained a concussion when he was tackled into one of his offensive linemen. He is hoping to play in Week 3 and he’s seeking new helmet technology to make that happen.

According to Sal Paolantonio of ESPN, Mike Vick invited Rob Vito, the CEO of UnEqual Technology Rob Vito, to work with him and the Eagles to outfit his Riddell helmet with new padding to assist in dispersing and blocking concussive force. Though this would be a first time use in an NFL helmet, the company has already implemented its composite formed ballistic grade kevlar in composite form for the Boston Bruins and various parts of the military.

As for Vick’s health status, ESPN interviewed wide receiver DeSean Jackson, who indicated that he overheard a member of the staff say that Vick is doing well on his post-concussion tests, and that it “sounds like a mild concussion”.
