Makayla Wetmore is a Model, Singer, and Cosmetologist in Colorado. Her style is that of the old school classic pin up mixed with the tattooed culture of today’s Alternative modeling. Rather it is the multi colored hair that seems to change depending on the shoot or her curvy and pierced confidence that shows through in every picture, Makayla is another face shattering the age old example of what beauty should be. Thankfully I was able to get her to sit down long enough to answer a few questions

Mr. Incredible: What got you started in Modeling?

Makayla Wetmore: Ever since I can remember I have want to be a model. The big reason I got started in modeling was to show women that they can do anything they want. As well as you can look different and have curves and still be beautiful. I did not want to be like all the models you see in fashion magazines.

Mr. Incredible: Now, you have done a variety of shoots…what have been some of your fav?10459926_706570592742819_1383039937635435728_n

Makayla Wetmore: I really enjoy doing shoots that make you feel like you are looking at a fairy tale. Fantasy is one of my favorite ways of showing art. You can also get very creative with fantasy styled photos. I also really enjoy doing Cosplay shoots. It is so much fun to become something different and planning the characters. The poses are pretty cool too.

Mr. Incredible: How do you feel about alternative modeling slowly becoming the new idea for beauty?

Makayla Wetmore: I love it! It is nice to see people becoming more excepting of the alternative look. It is a different and unique type of beauty.

Mr. Incredible: What was your first tattoo?

Makayla Wetmore: My first tattoo was across my feet. It says “Have Faith” with Japanese cherry blossoms. I wanted to get my feet done first because people always said that the feet really hurt. I was pretty surprised because it did not hurt as much as I thought it would.

Mr. Incredible: With the style of shoots that you do, will we ever see you doing anything with sites like Suicide Girls?

Makayla Wetmore: No you will not. I have a few friends that have done it and I think it is awesome that they can. But I would not be comfortable posing fully nude. That is one of my morals that I will always follow.

Mr. Incredible: How did you get into Cosplaying?

Makayla Wetmore: I have always loved Comics, Anime, and Video Games. A few years ago someone told me that I look like Wonder Women. When they told me that I realized that I could totally become Wonder Women if I really wanted to. So I went to my first Comic Convention as wonder women. After that I became obsessed with dressing up as my favorite heroes and villains.

Mr. Incredible: What was your first Cosplay?

Makayla Wetmore: My first Cosplay was Wonder Women from the comic Ame-Comi Girls.

Mr. Incredible: How do you feel off the overall sexiness of female Cosplay?

Makayla Wetmore: I think it is awesome when someone is Cosplaying a character that is sexy. I also like that it helps women feel sexy that normally do not feel sexy. It is very empowering. Although I am not too thrilled when people take characters that are not really sexy and try to make them overly sexy. It ruins the character in my opinion.

Mr. Incredible: What have been some of your fav. Cosplays?

Makayla Wetmore: I loved Cosplaying wonder women a lot. I felt very powerful and confident. I also really enjoyed Cosplaying as Yoko from the anime Gurren Lagann. She is a total bad-ass and super cute. Another one that was a lot of fun was Black Cat. Dressing up as a villain was pretty cool.

Mr. Incredible: How does being a Cosmetologist help out in your modeling and Cosplaying?

Makayla Wetmore: It helps out a lot. I normally do all of my own Hair and Make up for everything that I do. I am very picky about my hair and my make up, so I do not have to worry about finding someone to do that for me. It also helps to make more connections and meet a lot of new people. I also do hair and makeup on other models and well as cut and color their hair.

Mr. Incredible: Now I see that you also sing. What style of singing do you do?

Makayla Wetmore: I sing everything from 1950’s music to Metal styled music. I was in a singing group a few years ago and we were a 1950’s group. It was a lot of fun. I love to sing. It is an awesome way of expressing how you feel. I really want to start singing more pop styled music and softer music like acoustic.

Mr. Incredible: Well we ever see you release anything for the public?

Makayla Wetmore: Yes you will. I will be working on making videos of me singing. I am also going to be working on writing my own music. I am hoping to get that project going soon.

Mr. Incredible: If a guy wanted to win your heart, what Japanese snack could he get you?

Makayla Wetmore: Well if a guy wanted to win my heart it will take a lot more than a Japanese snack. But to start that process a good one would be Coco Pocky. It is so amazing and yummy.

Mr. Incredible: Who are some of the Cosplayers that you enjoy checking out?

Makayla Wetmore: I love Yaya Han she is one of the most amazing Cosplayers in the world. She can make pretty much anything she wants and it is so perfect. I also like Kamui Cosplay she is very talented and makes some pretty cool outfits and props. Another awesome Cosplay model I like is Traci Hines. She Cosplays a lot of cool characters and takes beautiful photos.

Mr. Incredible: Well thank you for taking time out for this. Is there anything else you would like to say to the fans and readers?

Makayla Wetmore: You can always catch up with me on my Facebook page-https://www.facebook.com/MakaylaWetmore and my Instagram- @makaylawetmore I will be working on getting prints soon. Just message me on Facebook for details. Thank you so much for supporting me! It really means a lot.
