When looking at the upcoming season for the Big Ten, there are two things that jump out the most. First of all, this is pretty much  a one team league. Ohio State is the heavy favorite to win the league title and it would take an enormous collapse, rash of injuries, etc in order to dethrone the Buckeyes. Second, while Ohio State is top of the class, there are alot of teams that could have big seasons. There are at least 6 teams that will make the postseason and as many as 10 if things fall their way.

1 ) Ohio State
Jared Sullinger leads a loaded team that will not only win the conference but will contend for the national title.

2 ) Wisconsin
Jordan Taylor is still there and will be an offensive force for the Badgers, despite the team losing a few players.

3 ) Michigan
The Wolverines return several key contributors and John Beilein has all the pieces for a big season.

4 ) Michigan State
The Spartans will have a solid season, but opening games against UNC and Duke will go a long way towards determining their success.

5 ) Purdue
A returning Robbie Hummel will have the Boilermakers ready for a deep tournament run.

6 ) Illinois
Bruce Weber will get maximum effort from his team, despite them being quite young.

7 ) Minnesota
The Gopher frontcourt, led by Trevor Mbakwe, could be very impressive and if the guards can keep up, this team could surprise.

8 ) Iowa
The Hawkeyes have a solid group of returning starters and with a few big wins could do some damage in the Big Ten and NCAA tournament.

9 ) Northwestern
Another team that has the potential to make a run in conference play.

10 ) Indiana
The rebuilding continues, but hyped recruit Cody Zeller will have to have a big season in order for the Hoosiers to improve, especially in conference play.

11 ) Nebraska
The Husker’s first basketball season in the Big Ten will be more about finding their place then moving up the standings.

12 ) Penn State
It seems the fanbase is more focused on JoePa and football. That can’t be good for the basketball team.
