30 years after the original series ended, and with two wildly successful movies having made their way through the big screen box offices, Charlie’s Angels is making its return to television.

The cast is shaping up nicely, with the top five key roles already cast.  Clearly the Angels being most important, we know who will be filling those shoes.  Pictured at right, Minka Kelly (center, of Friday Night Lights, Parenthood, Esquire’s Sexiest Woman Alive) is the most well-known of the trio (due partly to her resume of television and film work, partially due to having Derek Jeter as her +1) is said to be a “former marine and weapons expert”.  Rachel Taylor (pictured far right, of Transformers and Grey’s Anatomy) uses her character’s skills as a (presumably former) con-artist.  Rounding out the trio is Annie Ilonzeh (left, of Entourage, Melrose Place and General Hospital).

Robert Wagner lends his voice (and potentially more than that) to the role of Charlie, and Ramon Rodriguez (of the Transformers trilogy, The Wire, and Pelham 1-2-3) will add a new spin to the Bosley character which includes computer hacking skills not present for Bernie Mac or Bill Murray in the theatrical versions.

To act as producers and to write the show’s pilot, ABC hired Smallville creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar.  Joining them as producers, among others, is Drew Barrymore, who starred in the two theatrical versions of the show.
