Don’t pretend you haven’t thought about it.
Even 10 or 15 years ago, video games were starting to produce female characters that could more or less be considered hot—and not just if you’re “into that kind of thing.” I’m talking legitimately, objectively hot. I first realized this was a thing when staying at a friend’s house back in middle school in the early-2000s and seeing a giant poster of a Final Fantasy character on his wall. “She’s hot, man,” he explained when I questioned the decor decision. I simply hadn’t thought of it that way, but once I did… damn it, he was right.
Fast-forward 15 years or so and video games have grown so sophisticated that they’re almost unrecognizable by comparison to those early-2000s games. And as a result, characters are so life-like that there are some genuine babes out there in the world of gaming. Not only that but there are some alternative gaming options that put you face-to-face with actual human babes. So with that said, here’s my look at some of the best games for finding bona fide hotties.
Final Fantasy (Pretty Much The Whole Series)
I already mentioned Final Fantasy having a bit of a jump on this concept, though for the life of me I can’t figure out which character it was that graced my friend’s wall all those years ago. But really, it doesn’t matter. Because in the years since, Final Fantasy has gained something of a reputation for churning out animated beauties, to the point that there are extensive lists and conversations online about which one is hottest. A thorough countdown by Beyond Apples is probably the best such discussion, and demonstrates that some of these characters are just so realistic they drive guys crazy. I mean, just check out Yuna at #3.
Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain
If you’ve played this game you probably know who I’m talking about. It’s Quiet, the sniper assassin who came in second on Gamers Decide’s list of the hottest gaming characters of 2015. Not only does she have the benefit of modern graphics that make her look little short of beautiful, she also has a weird breathing condition that requires her to wear less clothing so she can absorb more oxygen. I’m not sure if that’s so blatant it diminishes her or if it’s kind of nice to have a game at least give a reason for a curvy female character strutting about in a tank top that’s holding on for dear life. Either way, she’s nice to look at.
Gala Casino
I mentioned that there are even some alternative games that use real-life babes instead of super-realistic animations, and Gala’s live dealer games epitomize the concept. Basically these are ordinary casino games—roulette, blackjack, poker, etc.—but instead of dealing with a cartoony figure, you interact with a live human who’s dishing out cards or spinning the roulette wheel. And spoiler alert: the dealers are hot, and they know it. Here’s hoping this leads to a broader trend in gaming, wherever a live feed is possible.
Tomb Raider
And finally I have to come back to ordinary video games, because there’s pretty much a consensus that Lara Croft is the all-time greatest video game hottie. If you haven’t seen the images from Rise Of The Tomb Raider (released in 2015), do yourself a favor and check them out. It’s just remarkable how that Lara Croft improves with age! (Not to mention this is an incredible game.)
That about does it for my countdown, but there are plenty more to consider. A lot of guys are into Zelda and Samus Aran, some guys go for the girls in Bond games, and a lot of us are even drawn to the badass babes of Far Cry. Hell, Princess Peach might even be your thing (though that one’s getting a little weird). But no matter your taste, it’s hard to disagree with the games and characters above.
