Claire Sinclair was picked as Playboy’s Playmate of the Year, but not without some controversy over the choice.  Back in January, I became aware of an article which purported Sinclair, who has been dating Marston Hefner (Hugh’s son), had already been handed the award unofficially. The author overheard a conversation at November 2010’s Glamorcon where Claire Sinclair’s sister stated that “Hef has already said he wants her as Playmate of the year…”  More than just hearsay is involved to lead to speculation of dodgy doings. In January, Robin Leach (of Lifestyles Of The Rich And Famous fame) stated in an article that Claire Sinclair was the leader in the running for Playmate Of The Year, and that she had turned down an extended run in Crazy Horse in Las Vegas due to potential obligations as Playmate Of The Year… if she were to win.

Yeah, IF? More like WHEN.

Supposedly Marston Hefner and Claire Sinclair broke up, but the relationship is easily tracked by checking out Marston’s Twitter feed, and there’s a two month period where he didn’t use Twitter (from mid-January until mid-March), but the rest of the time it appears he was VERY chummy with Ms Sinclair.

Winning Playmate Of The Year might not be an award which holds any significant merit, but it certainly isn’t a fruitless superlative. In past years, the woman named PMOY has been given an awesome car and a very significant cash prize. She’s also been featured in a DVD released by Playboy, and considerable opportunities come her way because of it.  It’s frustrating that nepotism played such a big part in deciding this year’s Playmate Of The Year, especially when any girlfriend/fiance/spouse of Marston Hefner would likely get most anything they’d want anyway.

In our eyes and the opinion of our readers, there were two very qualified candidates, either of which should’ve been chosen instead.  Back in January, I ran a column in which I gave the readers of GuysNation the opportunity to pick who they thought should be Playmate Of The Year, and I fully agree with either of the top two picks:

Jaime Edmondson

Not only did she steam up the pages of Playboy in January 2010, but she also heated up Amazing Race as a contestant.

Though the picture on the right doesn’t show the true color of her hair, had she been selected Playmate Of The Year, it would have been the first time in 40 years that a redhead won the award.

We have a full article dedicated to Jaime Edmondson for your enjoyment here on GuysNation, and it’s possible you’ve already read it, as it’s one of our most popular articles of all time!

If you need any more proof of how awesome Jaime Edmondson is, just take a look at one of the images from an NFL related photoshoot she did for NFL merchandise!

Don't hate, they were the world champions.

Alyssa Milano AND Jaime Edmondson posing for the new line of women’s NFL apparel? We’re guessing they sold quite a bit!

Shera Bechard

I will admit that I’m a little biased when it comes to Shera Bechard for a few reasons.

First, she’s Canadian, and from a young age I learned to appreciate the fact that a lot of beautiful women come from Canada. Pam Anderson, Elisha Cuthbert, Cobie Smulders, Rachel McAdams, Erica Durance, Kristin Kreuk, Ellen Page and Laura Vandervoort just to name a few.

Secondly, she started #FriskyFriday on Twitter, the awesome weekly event we cover here on GuysNation where fantastically hot women get scantily clad for your enjoyment at the end of each work week. Not only did she start it, but her pics are almost always amongst our favorites, including this gem:

Thirdly, just track down a copy of her Playmate pictorial and corresponding video.

Fourthly, given how big of a fan I am of Shera Bechard, I setup an interview with her that is currently in the works to be published here on GuysNation to give you another bit of insight into the woman behind the gorgeous golden locks.

Even with all of those factors, there’s no denying how hot she is! Though I’m a fan of Betty Paige and I do agree that Claire Sinclair bares some resemblence to the iconic pin-up, I still don’t think Claire Sinclair was the right pick.
